GALLERY: Sydney supporters unite in love

Thousands of Sydneysiders made their way to Prince Alfred Park in Surry Hills this morning for the same-sex marriage result announcement.

Many skipped work or took a day of leave to come together to learn of the historic result. They were excited and relieved to learn a majority in every state and territory in Australia voted YES for marriage equality. It is now up to the Federal Government to make same sex marriage legal. When legislation is passed Australia will be the 25th country to legalise same-sex marriage.
