After 20 years, Kardashians call it quits

It’s the end of an era and a shock to KarJenner fans around the world.

The hit reality show “Keeping up with the Kardashians” is ending its 14-year run on E! next year after hitting a milestone with its 20th season.

On Tuesday the family simultaneously announced that they decided to cancel the long-running reality TV show. The family thanked E!, the production team and Ryan Seacreast, who was the executive producer and founder of the show.

“We’ve decided as a family to end this very special journey,” the family wrote in a statement. “We are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years — through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children.”

“We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”

“It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’”

The statement was signed by Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Scott Disick.

Although no specific reason was given for the abrupt ending, sources who spoke to Page Six said the family wanted to end on a “high note”.

Kim took it to Instagram to thank her loyal fans and followers:

“Without Keeping Up With the Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” she said.

“I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”

The Kardashian series debuted in 2007, spawning several spinoffs and, despite being disliked by critics, the show’s high ratings made it one of E! channel’s most successful shows.

In a press release, E! network said: “It has been an absolute privilege and we will miss them wholeheartedly, we respect the family’s decision.”

Even though it was mutual decision, Kourtney Kardashian made it obvious that she no longer wanted to be a part of the series.

“Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard,” she told vogue Arabia in July.

Almost every aspect of their lifestyle was glamourised. From their iconic one liners to their infamous salad bowls and the way Khloe Kardashian organised her cookie jar.

The finale episodes will launch on September 17th 2021.

Thousands of fans took it to twitter to express their thoughts.
