A senior member of the Rebels bikie gang has been charged after police seized weapons, drugs and allegedly stolen diesel fuel.
NSW police’s Strike Force Raptor raided a home in the Hunter region yesterday and arrested a 45-year-old man in Rutherford, following an ongoing investigation into an alleged criminal network.
Earlier that morning the man had been stopped on a street in Rutherford and charged with breaching his bail conditions before being released on conditional bail by Maitland Local Court.
A short time later he was re-arrested at a home in Rutherford after Strike Force Raptor conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order warrant on the property.
During the search investigators located several items including a push dagger, a sheath knife, a disguised electronic control device, an extendable baton and Rebel Outlaw Motorcycle Club colours.
They also allegedly found a quantity of methylamphetamine, prescribed restricted substances and 20 drums of diesel suspected of being stolen.
The man was charged with multiple counts of possession of a prohibited weapon without permit, use of a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order, failing to ensure safe keeping of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited drug, possession of a prescribed restricted substance and goods in custody.
The man was refused bail to appear before Maitland Local Court today.
